Why does it take me about 30 minutes to 1 hour to fall asleep? Is it early insomnia?

A 30–60 min “sleep latency” - aka time to fall asleep - is perfectly normal. It really depends on a lot of things, but if it takes you a bit of time to wind down, that is perfectly fine. The average sleep latency for a healthy, normal, adult human adult is 30 minutes, with some people taking 15 min and others taking 60 min. I would be more concerned if someone told me they take 2-5 minutes to fall asleep, as it could be a sign of severe sleep deprivation and sleep apnea. #getsleeptested
